For those who have been doing some of the other quick curve quilts, this is a new block of the month quilt with the Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve Ruler. It gives us the opportunity to have more intricate blocks. We had used the same ruler in the Sew Wonderful Block of the Month project. The finished quilt measures 72" x 73".

This is an adorable miniature 24? wall hanging using the Dresden Plate 18 degree ruler and consists of fusible appliqu?. Fusible appliqu? is stitched down with decorative stitches. Pattern shows options for lap or twin quilts.

Scrappy Dresden Table Runner Wyoming - J'Ann McEwen

This is a great way to use up scraps. The table runner in the original pattern finished in 12" blocks for a finished size of 14-1/2" x 41-1/2". I actually made mine with four blocks rather than three. The actual pattern calls for come turned applique but we will be doing it slightly different. It is the perfect opportunity to brush up on applique and the applique stitches on your machine.

Scan N Cut Basics-Wyoming - J'Ann McEwen

This class in for those of you who have purchased the DDX model of the Scan N Cut machine and have not used it yet. In this session. we will be learning the basics of out machine and then tackle the basics of cutting fabric (for example, to be used in applique designs for either clothing or quilting). My hope is to continue later with classes on permanent vinyl (porch signs etc.), heat transfer vinyl (for clothing), paper cutting (cards, etc.) and so on. Also hope to be able to work with the free Brother computer program called Canvas Workspace that came with your machine. (The quilt pieces in the picture were cut on the Scan N Cut)

Free-Motion Quilting #1 with J'Ann McEwen - WYOMING

This class is an introduction to free motion quilting and will include a discussion of the basics of free motion quilting, preparing for and planning the quilting of your quilt, where to begin your quilting, basic types of threads and needles to be used, different ways to mark the quilt (such as stencils and traced patterns as well as guidelines for quilting edge to edge) and basic free-motion patterns. We will also work on some beginning free-motion designs using doodling which helps to create the muscle memory needed for free-motion quilting. Machine not necessary for this class. Paper & pencil only.

Free-Motion Quilting #2 Wyoming - J'Ann McEwen

Following up on the Machine Quilting #1 Class, we will be doing free-motion quilting practicing some of the more basic free-motion designs. The more practice the easier and more confident you will feel in free-motion quilting and this class is designed to get you going and erase the fear of free-motion quilting. We will also be experimenting with stencils, Pounce, ruler quilting, etc.

Puzzled, confused or just plain frustrated with stabilizers? Carol has developed a hands-on workshop to take out the frustration. You will be embroidering on 16 or more different types of fabric using the correct stabilizer for each fabric. When you are done, you will have a notebook full of samples to refer to.
