For those of you who have purchased the Scan N Cut machine, this is an opportunity to make a quilt and use the SNC for applique pieces! I had a lot of fun learning and using SNC. The ice cream top is machine appliqued. The pattern for this quilt is by Stacey Day and was published in the American Quilter Magazine in September of 2021 and can be ordered by the store to be used for class.

This class is an introduction to free motion quilting and will include a discussion of the basics of free motion quilting, preparing for and planning the quilting of your quilt, where to begin your quilting, basic types of threads and needles to be used, different ways to mark the quilt (such as stencils and traced patterns as well as guidelines for quilting edge to edge) and basic free-motion patterns. We will also work on some beginning free-motion designs using doodling which helps to create the muscle memory needed for free-motion quilting.

You will need fabrics with light, medium, and dark color values. This is rotary cut and strip pieced to quickly complete your 7 inch blocks. Finished quilt sizes are customizable with this pattern. Class will focus on finishing the quilt top.

Both patterns are from Penny Sturges/Quilts Illustrated and include the hardware required. Because they are slightly complicated patterns, the first class will include cutting and beginning quilting; the second and third classes will be completing the bag. Please note that this pattern and directions are written for the experienced sewer in mind! We will be doing either the Tool Tote OR the Boxy Tote so pick the pattern that applies to you.

This class is for those who purchased their Baby Lock sergers from Lakeshore Sewing. Students with 8 thread will stay the full time the 4 thread serger will be able to leave an hour or so early.
This will be kind of a block of the month type project. The 28" x 70" wall hanging consists of 10 blocks (there are two blocks of each pattern done in opposite colors) and uses the Wonder Curve Ruler and the Wonder Curves Sampler Quilt Block Book by Jenny Pedigo. It will be an all day class once a month and we will work on two blocks each time. There will be homework!
Puzzled, confused or just plain frustrated with stabilizers? Carol has developed a hands-on workshop to take out the frustration. You will be embroidering on 16 or more different types of fabric using the correct stabilizer for each fabric. When you are done, you will have a notebook full of samples to refer to. A 4x4 or 120x120 hoop is required.
